Google AdWords offers a free tool to track the number of conversions in the website. Tracking the conversions and selecting a page to be a the conversion page in the website is very important for an online business. Conversion is the desired action we would like the customers to take on  website. This could be clicking on an ad or buying a product. The conversion is for the most part the associated with the return value we get from the customer. For example, if my goal is to track people that are buying my products, I would generate a conversion tracking code with Google AdWords and add this code to my website html be on the purchase confirmation page. This way I would be able to track the viewers that are actually buying the product and not just clicking on the ad. Additionally, the key thing with ads is your cost per conversion which directly translates to ROI or return on investment. Being able to know how much a conversion costs can translate into advertisement cost versus profit.
