In Numbers 11:18-20 says And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the Lord, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the Lord will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days; But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the Lord which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?”.

This passage is very interesting and a little bit funny too. Because the Israelites were complaining so much about the food and their situation that God decided to give them a lesson as a good father would. He answered their pleading for meat and not only that, but he said that they would have so much meat to eat that basically they would get sick of it. The meat would become “disgusting” after eating it for a month. I believe that God gives us simple lessons like that, so we can open our eyes and see better with the spirit. We don’t know all things, but He does, and shows us the way. We need to be able to see what he tries to teach us and not complain about them. Another interesting thing to remember is that there can be hard situations in life, but we still have our free will to choose and make right decisions. As it says the Victorian poem “Invictus” by William Henley : “It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul”. I know that God loves us and helps us during hard times. He will not abandon us, we just need to follow His teachings and be thankful for the blessings we have in our lives.

Thank you.
